The route at a glance
Route suitable for: Hiking.
Degree of difficulty: Easy + (for the level of experienced hikers).
Features: Wonderful circular hiking route for exploring the mountainous area west of Meronas, mainly on dirt roads, and with a small section of 300 meters on a path for the ascent to the imposing peak of Agios Pnevma (Holy Spirit).
Marking: Very good, with yellow, green and red arrows.
Start – End: Meronas (circular route)
Drinking water points along the route: Tap at Scafidia (point 14 on the map), but with little or no water during the summer months. Be sure to fill your water bottles in advance at the “Pangalian” fountain in Meronas.
Realization: Any time of the year.
Equipment
Spring – Summer – Autumn: Hiking or Trekking shoes, long trousers (due to the presence of dense clumps of woody bushes), walking stick, hat, sunglasses, water (1½ liter water bottle).
Winter: Hiking or Trekking shoes, winter clothing, raincoat, walking stick, water (1½ liter water bottle).
