Old stone shelters, scattered in the mountains of Kouroutes, as in other areas of Psiloritis, are built. They served as cheese-making areas, but also as seasonal lodgings for shepherds in earlier years. The “twin” shelters, built side by side with dry stones without binding material and a vaulted roof, are perfectly in harmony with the natural environment and impress the visitor with their simple architecture, reminiscent of the Minoan vaulted tombs.
