The church of Panagia in Platania village is built in the architectural type of a single room, vaulted with a semi-cylindrical arch supported by two slings, which rest on pegs. The temple preserves fresco decoration by two painters. The first one, who followed belated popular conservative trends of the 13th century, decorated the eastern part of the church, while the painter of the western part, followed academic trends of the evolving Palaeologian art, in the first decades of the 14th century.
