It is located at the eastern foothills of Mount Kedros on the provincial road Gerakari – Agios Ioannis, in a location with an unobstructed view of the Amari valley and the slopes of Psiloritis. This small village, which has been inhabited since at least the years of the Venetian occupation, when it was first mentioned, survives today with few permanent residents.

The church of Agia Anna is situated in the village and the frescoed church of Zoodochos Pigi (Our Lady of Faneromeni) is also in the wider area.
